Fruit Filled Coffee Cake

This recipe was sent to me by my parentals! They said everyone loved it.

1 package (2 layer size) white cake mix
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 cup sour cream ( not non fat)
3 eggs
1/4 cup water
1 can 21 ounce cherry pie filling
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup powdered sugar
1 1/2 tbsp milk

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Beat first 5 ingredients with mixer until well blended. Pour into a greases and floured 9 x 13 inch pan. I used Pam and a glass baking dish. top with spoonfuls of the pie filling.

Bake 35 minutes or until a tooth pick inserted in the center comes out clean. Sprinkle with the nuts and cool 10 minutes. Mix sugar and milk and drizzle over the cake and cool completely.

I noticed in my oven I had to cook it 45 minutes and the way it cooked was strange. The edges raised and cooked while the center did not seem to cook after the 35 minutes so I left it in another 10 to 15 minutes checking the center often.
