Pasta Fagioli

This is my G'ma's version of Pasta Fagioli. It isn't anything like what you get in Olive Garden, but it was an absolute favorite of mine growing up. Whenever my grandparents came to visit us in FL when I was growing up, they HAD to make it for me.

2 ½ quarts water
Salt and pepper
2 cans kidney bean
1 small onion
1 tbsp tomato paste
Oil

In a pan pour the water and the beans and bring to a boil for about one hour. In a small pan put a bit of oil to cook the onion until soft then add about 1 cup of water and one tbsp of tomato paste and boil until it is halved. Then take it and pour it in the boiling beans and cook until the beans are cooked. Than pass the beans through the sieve and add to the soup. Keep cooking for a while then add noodles.
